A Study on Adaptation of Traditional Yakshagana Art Form to its Digital Form.
Rangrez
Colouring of fabric through dyeing and printing has been a age old process for the beautification of fabrics. ‘Batik’ the wax resist process of dyeing is an ancient art form for creating designs on fabric. Originated in Indonesia, Batik slowly became a major art form in the rural households of India. Tie & Dye, mostly named as ‘Bandhni’ on the other hand has its roots deep down embedded in the soils of Rajasthan & Gujrat of the country. Here in this process, the dye can be repeated over and over to create complex multi-coloured designs. In the process of printing Bahasa stands out for its block, screen & also digital printed products. All creations are hand-made and distinctive from one another.
Sui Dhaga
Hand embroidery, in India has originated in the pre-historic times to depict the art and culture of the local lifestyles. They are primarily done by the rural population of the country and that remains the simplest yet the most creative of all styles of embellishment yet today. Bahasa offers a wide range of Kantha stitch of Bengal, Gujrati stitch from the Kutch and many more.
